Charleston Dental Clinic

Charleston Dental Clinic provides free emergency dental services to the underserved and the uninsured residents of Charleston. Their mission is to meet the immediate and emergency needs for dental care among the underserved, both children and adults, and to educate and train the patient and the patient’s family about the necessity for consistent oral hygiene to reduce the need for emergency services. This is the only free dental clinic serving the downtown Charleston area, and it is particularly important and needed in these economic times. The Emergency Clinic is open two nights a week serving 5-10 patients per clinic. Services include limited oral evaluations, intraoral periapical x-rays, panoramic x-rays, simple extractions, and surgical removals. Charleston Dental Clinic would like to expand its services to include more standard dental work when they have the funds. Currently, those patients needing fillings, etc., are referred to MUSC’s Dental Clinic.
