Adult Forum

We had a large turnout at the Adult Forum on January 20. Part two is on Sunday, January 27 at 10:00 A.M. in Stephen's Hall.

Father Williams will be discussing his article "Is Fundamentalism the Cause of the ruptures within the Episcopal Church, or is the neo-evangelical spirit in the Episcopal Church a result of the culture in which the Episcopal Church lives?" Father Williams will be also discussing an article entitled "A Dim Mirror: Archbishop Rowan Williams' Reflections on the 2009 General Convention."

These documents will be handed out at Sunday's Adult Forum.

These Adult Forums are "informational" but allow time for discussion. Should the discussions require more time, additional sessions can be scheduled easily. Essentially the current situation within our own diocese had its beginnings many years ago, and it was perhaps the Archbishop of Canterbury who emboldened the "former" personnel and parishes to leave the National Episcopal Church with the sense that they could remain Anglican even if they could no longer call themselves "Episcopalians."

The best way to understand the current state is to remember this phrase: "All Episcopalians are Anglican; but not all Anglicans are Episcopalians."

More on Sunday.
See you then!
