The HIV/AIDS Ministry, Diocese of South Carolina
The HIV/AIDS Ministry, Diocese of South Carolina, exists to work collaboratively to build opportunities for people with HIV/AIDS, their families, friends, caregivers, and people involved in AIDS ministries to come together for spiritual and emotional renewal, expressed within the traditions of the Episcopal Church. This manifests itself through the annual HIV/AIDS Retreat, held at the Kanuga Conference Center since 1992. All of these individuals, some of whom represent the “new face of HIV/AIDS," black women, receive some sort of financial assistance to attend the retreat. None of this funding comes from the Diocese of South Carolina. Donated resources from St. Stephen’s would go towards scholarships to individuals affected by HIV/AIDS living in the counties that comprise the Diocese of South Carolina.
